Arline Parker

Arline Parker, 81

Poulsbo resident Arline Knox Parker died Aug. 10, 2006 in Gig Harbor. She was 81.

Parker was born to Merle and Alice (Braasch) Hough in Norfolk, Neb. on Nov. 8, 1924.

She married Robert E. Knox on Jan. 25, 1943 in Bremerton. After his death in 1975, she married Burton Parker on Dec. 11, 1976 in Seattle.

Parker graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in 1942.

She worked as an assistant to the executive secretary at Kitsap Physician’s Service for 10 years, retiring in 1975.

She had a great love of music, gardening, home decorating and travel. She was a member of the Silverdale Garden Club, Belles and Beaus Square Dance Club and the Silverdale Children’s Orthopedic Auxiliary.

Parker is survived by her second husband Burton Parker of Gig Harbor; son Robert J. (Claire) Knox of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters Linda Nopp of Bremerton and Kathy (Ron) Miller of Silverdale; step-daughter Susan (Pat) Worrell of Gig Harbor; sisters Jean (Warren G.) Hager of Las Vegas and Joanne (Pete) Besas of Blaine; nephew Jerry (Doris) Knox of Poulsbo; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great -randchildren and one step great-grandchild.

Parker was preceded in death by her first husband Robert E. Knox in 1975.

A private graveside service was held Aug. 16 at Miller Woodlawn in Bremerton.

The family invites friends and relatives to join them for an open house in honor of Parker’s life at 2 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Silverdale LDS Church at 11070 Frontier Road.
