Alice M. Stevenson, 98

Alice Marie Stevenson of Suquamish and Pateros died Jan. 8, 2004 in Brewster. She was 98.

Stevenson was born to George Jerome and Alice Bon (Phelon) McEntyre in New York, N.Y. on May 25, 1905.

She married Robert John Stevenson on July 16, 1930 in Seattle.

Stevenson graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle in 1925 and then from the University of Washington in 1927.

She worked as a second grade teacher at Sacred Heart School in Bellevue until her retirement.

Stevenson enjoyed needlework, reading, swimming, shopping and socializing. She was a Catholic.

Stevenson is survived by her daughter Roberta Scroggie of Chelan and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister Agnes, brother George and daughter Melinda Stevenson.

A memorial service will be held at St. Peter’s Mission in Suquamish at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Poulsbo.
