POULSBO — Two young Poulsbo dignitaries have stepped in to support North Kitsap Fishline, which fell victim to gasoline theft last month.

Emalee Nazarino, 6, and Angelia White, 10, are lending their regal powers to help raise funds for the food bank. Nazarino represents Little Norway as the 2008 Tiny Washington State Queen and National Achievement Princess. White wears the crown of Golden Rose Ambassador for Miss American Rose.

The two combined their efforts after hearing of Fishline’s misfortune. Thieves punctured the tank of one of the food bank’s trucks and stole fuel from inside it, in the meantime spilling 30 gallons of the substance over the gravel parking lot on April 22.

Nazarino and White have since gathered more than 1,200 pounds of food and $400 to contribute to Fishline. They’re not finished yet.

Teaming with Higura Imports, which has donated a hand-painted Italian vase, Nazarino and White are now selling raffle tickets for the item. It’s valued at $450. All proceeds from the raffle sale will go to support Fishline. Tickets are on sale now for $1 each at American Rose Bridal, Galletta’s Dance Studio (evening hours only) and Cedar Glen retirement community. The raffle drawing will be held on May 19. The winner will be notified by telephone.

For more information on how to purchase raffle tickets, contact Debbie Nazarino at (360) 697-4103 or debbie@videomeproductions.com.
