KINGSTON – A 34-year-old Kingston woman was airlifted to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center Wednesday evening after an incident involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV).

North Kitsap Fire & Rescue crews were called to Boston Lane just before 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday where it was reported that the woman had crashed.

Responders arrived on the scene to find the woman in a ditch with the overturned quad on her leg. She was conscious and told crews that she was not wearing a helmet when she apparently lost control of the vehicle. Concerned about the severity of the injuries, medics called for an Airlift Northwest helicopter to transport the woman from a landing zone at David Wolfle Elementary School to the regional trauma center at Harborview.
