No, this is not a repeat of last week’s article. Following their appearance at the Admiral Theatre in Bremerton Dec. 9, New Age acoustic duo Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel perform a concert of holiday music Dec. 17 at Island Center Hall on Bainbridge Island.

In addition to being staples on the New Age music charts with a dozen albums over the last two decades, the duo has recorded four holiday albums designed to soothe the stress of the holiday season.

“The Gift” was the duo’s first recording together, released in 1985, followed by “Star of Wonder” in 1994 and “Peace on Earth” and “Comfort and Joy,” both in 2004.

With Tingstad on guitar and occasional percussion and Rumbel on everything else (oboe, double reeds, ocarina, piano), the pair racked up a 2003 Grammy for Best New Age Album, but still like to play the small venues that have been their bread and butter.

Tingstad and Rumble perform 7:30 p.m. Dec. 17 at Island Center Hall, 8395 Fletcher Bay Rd., Bainbridge Island, sponsored by Bainbridge Island Park and Recreation District.

Tickets for adults are $15 advance, $20 door, youth are $12 advance or door. Advance tickets available at Glass Onion, Winslow Drug, or by phone at the Parks office, (206) 842-2306. wu
