William E. “Bill” Arness of Poulsbo passed away on Aug. 27. He was 73.

POULSBO — William E. “Bill” Arness of Poulsbo passed away on Aug. 27. He was 73.

Bill was born on Nov. 23, 1942 in Bremerton, the son of Edward and Dora (Rowe) Arness. He was a graduate of West Bremerton High School in 1960 and went on to graduate from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in business.

He married Patricia Nord on Aug. 28, 1965 in Everett; she passed away in 1999.

Self-employed his entire professional career, Bill established Arness, Inc. in 1969 and Hardrock Concrete in 1999, and was an important part of other local business ventures.

On July 3, 2002, Bill married Vickie Wicklund in Poulsbo. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed working on classic cars, hunting, was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed family picnics at President’s Point.

Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia, and his parents.

Bill’s memory will live on with his wife of 14 years, Vickie; daughters, Tosha Engstrom (Tim) of San Diego, California, Wendy Arness of Ballard, Tani Arness of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Vicki McCown (Brian) of Bremerton; sister, Suzanne Arness of Kingston; and grandchildren, Levi, Avianne and Chase Engstrom, and Angela and Rebecca McCown.

The family welcomes you to gather with them at 22777 NE Indianola Road at 3 p.m. Sept. 3.  Internment was at Kingston Cemetery.
