Kingston Citizens Advisory Council meeting, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Village Green Community Center.

Topics to be discussed include: Transportation improvements on state Route 104 and Washington Boulevard are moving from planning to implementation soon. Kitsap County Commissioner Rob Gelder will discuss proposals for dealing with downtown ferry traffic and new state funding. Kitsap County Public Works staff will provide updates on street improvements for Washington Boulevard, South Kingston Road and others.

The KCAC Trans-portation Committee will also share the latest on Kitsap Transit’s passenger-only ferry, slated to begin Kingston-to-Seattle service in late summer this year. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. There will be time for questions and comments.

The Kingston Cove (Almost) Summer Fest,” 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Lots of free stuff for the kids: tours of the historic schooner Martha, build a toy schooner, fishing derby, sea creature exhibit, toy sailboat races and other games, free boat rides, belly biology, family friendly street dance, plus stuff for the grown-ups as well. The event was formerly called “Opening Day of Boating Season.” But this year the Kingston Cove Yacht Club wanted to expand it into an early celebration of summer.

“Estuary Liberation Day” 11 a.m., at Stillwaters. Come out and celebrate the West Kingston Bridge completion and the marsh being free. There will be a ribbon cutting, live music, food and beverages plus tours to the marsh.

Kingston Kiwanis 5th Annual “Kingston Benefit Concert and Brew Fest,” at Kingston Marina Park, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Live music, food trucks, kid booths and more. $20 per person for seven beer tokens and one door prize ticket. For more information go to greaterk ingstonkiwanis.weebly.com.
