Stevens chose not to make a statement to police, and requested an attorney. She is under arrest for probable cause forgery and theft in the first degree. Both crimes are felonies.

Stevens will be booked into the Kitsap County Jail with a total bail of $100,000 ($50,000 for each offense.)    The Bremerton Police Department has been conducting an investigation into the finances of the Naval Avenue Elementary PTA. Stevens allegedly had control of the bank accounts for the PTA during 2012 and the first half of 2013. “Our detectives completed a comprehensive and objective investigation and this is where the facts led,” said Bremerton Police Chief Steve Strachan.

It is expected that Stevens will make her first court appearance Monday afternoon.
