Village Green Master Plan presented

Public meeting held to review final plan

Miles Yanick & Co., contracted by Kitsap County to create a master plan for Kingston’s Village Green park, will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 at the North Kitsap Fire & Rescue headquarters station on Miller Bay Road.

Yanick and his colleague Robin Hanaway will present the final master plan that includes footprints for a new community center, low-income senior housing as well as connector roads, multi-use open space and play areas.

Several other meetings were held the last few months to get public input on various plan options.

Members of the Kingston Community Center Foundation and Village Green Park Stewardship Committee will be on hand to review the plan and hear comments voiced from those who attend.

The Kingston Community Center Foundation is looking for more people with energy and enthusiasm to join in planning and fund-raising efforts to make its vision of a new gathering place for Kingston a reality. The community center will include a public library, senior center, recreational facilities geared towards kids, meeting rooms, offices and room for historical displays.
