Drivers who cross the Manette Bridge starting today will notice the absence of something present since November 2011. But they won’t miss it.

Blaze orange vests and cones will no longer be on site, as the Washington State Department of Transportation reopens the bridge to two-way traffic today. The Manette Bridge opened to traffic Nov. 10 and replaced the 1930 structure that closed in July 2011.

A final “punch-list” of items and installation work required flagger-directed and alternating traffic during the weekdays. Crews are scheduled to return to paint sections on the bridge in the spring, or as weather allows.
