HANSVILLE — Two burglary suspects are still on the loose after a Hansville resident reported two men dashed from her home on Hood Canal Drive.

The suspects are white males, each in their 20s, according to information provided by the Kitsap County Sheriff’s office. At the time, the suspects were wearing mostly black, with black and white gloves. One had blue jeans, the other had black pants, according to a sheriff’s report.

The search for the two suspects began when a Hansville resident returned home with her son and daughter Wednesday afternoon. According to police reports, two suspects fled the home after the resident opened the door and began calling for the family’s dog. The two suspects came downstairs, being chased by the dog.

The suspects were last seen on foot heading southbound on Hood Canal Drive.

A K-9 unit was dispatched. However, the unit lost a scent, which means a vehicle was most likely used to flee the area, according to Kitsap Sheriff’s spokes person Scott Wilson.

During the time of the burglary call, students from the North Kitsap School District were being transported home. A sheriff’s deputy escorted a school bus as it off-loaded students in the vicinity of Hood Canal Drive.
