Tracyton Beach Road driver dies after car plunges into water

The victim is identified as a man in his late 30s. Speed and alcohol may have caused the accident.

BREMERTON — A 37-year-old man from Belfair died after his vehicle left the roadway in the 2600 block of Tracyton Beach Road 4:30 a.m. on April 20 and tumbled into the waters of the Port Washington Narrows, the Bremerton Police Department reported.

With the vehicle’s cabin submerged in waters off Pat Carey Vista Park and the driver inside, a police officer and an onlooker were able to unbuckle the man and extricate him. In a statement from Bremerton Police, Lt. Mike Davis said the driver, Brandon Ready, was taken ashore, where CPR was started. He then was taken to Harrison Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Tracyton Beach Road reopened to traffic at about 8:30 a.m. that morning, the police department reported.

Davis stated that alcohol and speed are believed to have contributed to the accident. Traffic officers are investigating the incident, he said.
