Time to fall back

It's also a good time to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors in your home.

Remember that hour you lost last March?

You’ll get it back on Sunday.

Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday, Nov. 2 at 2 a.m. Set your clocks back one hour when you go to bed Saturday and sleep in. Or get up and spend that extra hour doing something you’ve not had time for. Or do something nice for someone else with that hour.

Daylight Saving Time (DST) is a way of making better use of the natural daylight by setting your clock forward one hour during the summer months, and back again in the fall.

The United States officially began using DST with the Uniform Time Act in 1966, although it was observed before that in some places. In 2014, DST began March 9 and will end this Sunday.

And as a reminder, it’s also a good time to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors in your home.
