MCGAHEYSVILLE, Va. — Thomas Ronald Armstrong died at his home on June 17. He was 66.

He was born in Bremerton on Sept. 28, 1946, a son of Thomas Monroe “Jack” and Doris Mae Welborn Armstrong. He graduated from North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo.

He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. In his career, he worked for the CIA, drove armored vehicles, managed for McDonald’s, and for 19 years was a bulk mail technician with the U.S. Postal Service.

He was a member of the Manassas Baptist Church. He had a second-degree black belt in Hwardo Martial Arts, enjoyed coin and stamp collecting, fishing, hunting and working on stained glass projects for family and friends, and umpiring.

On Feb. 21, 1970, he married the former Linda L. Bryant, who survives him. He is also survived by his children, Thomas A. Armstrong (Mary E.), Eric J. Armstrong, Stacey L. Vilaca (Paulo); grandchildren, Zachary, Victoria and Thomas “Logan”, and Sophia Vilaca; brother, Terry Doiron (Judie); uncles, Robert and William Armstrong; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, John S., and sister, Phyllis.

Following his wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services.
