Teen pedestrian struck by car; injuries not life-threatening

A 17-year-old female suffered minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle at Highway 305 and Hostmark on Tuesday morning.

POULSBO — A 17-year-old female suffered minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle at Highway 305 and Hostmark on Tuesday morning.

According to witnesses, the teen did not have the right-of-way signal and was struck by a driver going through the intersection on a green light.

Poulsbo Fire Department responded to the incident, which was reported at 7:05 a.m. The driver was headed northbound on 305 and did not see the pedestrian until she struck her, according to Poulsbo Deputy Police Chief Wendy Davis. Witnesses reported the teen was wearing dark clothing.

The 17-year-old was treated at the scene by the fire crew for cuts on her face, a possible concussion and multiple bruises; the driver was not injured.

The teen was transferred to Harrison Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
