Kitsap County residents have the opportunity to advise the Washington State Transportation Commission on new toll rates for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.

The Tacoma Narrows Bridge Citizen Advisory Committee, with nine governor-appointed members, has two vacancies. Kitsap County residents are encouraged to apply, especially those who commute between Kitsap and Pierce counties. This citizen advisory committee makes toll rate recommendations to the state transportation commission on all matters related to tolls including the feasibility of frequent-user discounts, electronic transponders and senior citizen and student discounts. The committee may also study how toll rates relate to retirement of debt incurred when the new bridge was built and how tolls may vary depending on the time of day.

Members must be permanent residents of the affected area and serve at the pleasure of the Governor without compensation.
