LITTLE BOSTON — Francine Swift has resigned from the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribal Council. She left the council at the end of March.
She was employed by the Tribe as academic coach coordinator. She is applying for a job with The Point Casino; council members cannot be employed by the casino.
Swift graduated from North Kitsap High School and studied communication at The Evergreen State College and University of Washington. She represented the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe at the third White House Tribal Nations Conference, Dec. 2 at the U.S. Department of the Interior.
Also on the council are Chairman Jeromy Sullivan, Vice Chairman Chris Tom, Jamie Aikman, Kelly Baze and Eugene Purser.
Her position will be filled in the regular election later this year.
