Students compete at Manchester Elementary’s Geography Bee

Manchester Elementary conducted a Geography Bee on Jan. 30, with seven students from fourth through sixth grade competing in a forum moderated by John Richardson, Sr.

MANCHESTER — Manchester Elementary conducted a Geography Bee on Jan. 30, with seven students from fourth through sixth grade competing in a forum moderated by John Richardson, Sr.

The competition was judged by Keith Phillips, a parent, and the school’s helping teacher, Elise Roquiza.

The winner of the school-wide event was Jeff Batt, a sixth grade student from Mrs. Lee’s class.

The students listed below were the winners and runner-ups from the class level competitions and went on to compete in the school-wide event. They were:

• Sixth Grade — Mr. Sutton’s class: Lauren Kelly, Liam Pavkovic; Mrs. Williams’s class: Will Huck, Will Unterseher; Mrs. Lee’s class: Jeff Batt, Shi Wen Gunderson.

• Fifth Grade — Mr. Nugent’s class: Tyler Johnson, Brennan Koontz; Mr. Hoynes’s class: Jake Billingsley, Ben Koontz.

• Fourth Grade — Mrs. Immel’s’ class: Max Billingsley, Hazel Allen; Ms. Giantvalley’s class: M’chaela Irby, Greeley Myers.
