Special election school ballots are in the mail

Voters in Kitsap County have begun receiving their Feb. 14 special election ballots in the mail.

State law requires the mail-in ballots go out by Friday, Jan. 27. Chances are they will have been mailed on Wednesday, Jan. 25, according to the Kitsap County auditor’s office. Most registered voters are getting them at week’s end. Military and overseas ballots went out last week, the auditor’s office said.

Voters residing in the South Kitsap School District will be deciding whether to approve Proposition 1 and Proposition 2, which are levy and bond measures, respectively. Bainbridge Island School District voters also casting ballots to approve an operations levy and, separately, a levy funding technology upgrades.
