A 19-year-old man was apparently knocked unconscious earlier this month when a 20-year-old South Kitsap man punched him in the face after claiming he was missing $10, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office reported.

According to the report, the incident began around 10:15 p.m. July 5 while a group was watching Ultimate Fighting Championship bouts on television at a South Kitsap home, but was not reported until July 11 by the mother of the victim.

When asked by a deputy what occurred, the victim said he did not recall much as he was “knocked-out” for about five minutes, but said that he was with a group who was watching UFC matches and the suspect was there, though he had not been invited by the host.

At some point, the victim said, the suspect declared that he was missing $10 from his pocket and reportedly took “brass knuckles” out of his pocket and declared “no one is leaving this house until I find my money.”

The victim said the suspect then approached him, declaring “I don’t know you, so I don’t trust you,” then proceeded to punch him square in the mouth. Witnesses said the victim fell straight back onto the ground with his “eyes glassed over and blood spurting out of his mouth,” and then the suspect jumped on him and began hitting him in the head with his elbows, “UFC-style.”

When witnesses protested, the suspect apparently threatened others nearby before chasing someone else out into the street, then returning to attack the unconscious victim again. Eventually, he left the house when the victim’s mother arrived.

The victim described his injuries to the deputy as two black eyes, swollen nose, facial numbness, cut and swollen lip with a gash, bruised and swollen left ear.

The host said the suspect called the next day asking about his $10 and was still threatening.

Deputies attempted to contact the suspect but he was not located.
