Scavenger hunt

In honor of Kitsap Bank’s 115th Anniversary, it is hosting a community-wide scavenger hunt July 31-Aug. 11.

Each glass starfish hand-crafted by Lisa Stirrett’s Creative Warrior Studio will be hidden in parks and beaches in the communities the bank serves. Two starfish will be released each day except for Aug. 8, the bank’s actual anniversary date, when there will be six starfish released.

Kitsap Bank will be releasing clues to the hidden starfish daily throughout the hunt on Facebook and Instagram.

The glass starfish symbolize the bank’s commitment to #causegood in the communities it serves.

Inspired by the “Starfish Story,” the starfish serve as a reminder that everyone has the ability to make a difference. With every starfish the community finds, Kitsap Bank will be donating $50 to a local environmentally focused nonprofit in the finder’s name.

Victim identified

The Kitsap County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the man who died in a tent fire in Bremerton July 12 as Steven Hicks, 52.

Due to extensive thermal injuries, identification as well as cause and manner of death have been pending due to the need for records comparisons, toxicology results and outside testing.
