SoundRunner cancels Thursday, Friday sailings for repairs

KINGSTON — The SoundRunner passenger ferry will not sail to Seattle on Thursday or Friday, as crews replace an engine on the Spirit of Kingston.

Port of Kingston officials expect service to resume Monday, according to a notice on the port’s website. SoundRunner has a backup boat, but the ferry crew will be needed to help with the engine work and will not be available to keep the service running.

The Spirit of Kingston has been operating on three of its four engines since a malfunction disabled one engine in October.

The port will update riders on the Spirit of Kingston’s status on Saturday.
