Slug bait is non-toxic, eco and community friendly

Imagine it is Aug. 8th and 9 a.m. The Kingston Art Gallery’s SLUG inFESTation is on and slithering. Armed with one hunting license per slug, which can be purchased now for $1 at the gallery or Chamber of Commerce, and a slug hunting map, available at the gallery or Kingston Farmers Market on the day of the hunt, slug hunters are off and searching for 101 awesome slugsome ceramic slugs hidden around Kingston. Finders keepers. Thirty brilliant and slug-loving business sponsors have chosen a slug to hide on their premises and may have specials available to those with a hunting license. While tracking the slug slime go easy on the environment. Leave not a trace of your pursuit.

Deadline: Poetry Contest (Kindergarten through eighth grade) entries must be to the Gallery by Aug. 3 for judging by the Crab Creek Review Literary Journal editors. Entry forms are at the gallery. Winners will read their poems at 6 p.m. during the slug festivities which take place all day at the Gallery, just two blocks up the hill from the ferry dock on Highway 104. These include:

9 a.m. and on — Get your map, and license if you don’t have one already, then go slug hunting;

9:30 a.m. and on —
