SKSD classes canceled Tuesday

Crippling road conditions are making transport dangerous.

PORT ORCHARD — Students who attend classes in the South Kitsap School District will be staying home again tomorrow, Tuesday.

School district officials announced this afternoon that due to heavy snow accumulation over the last 24 hours, classes and all ancillary activities have been canceled for Tuesday.

Weather forecasters are predicting some rain later in the day for the snowbound region, creating added misery for drivers on Kitsap County roads tonight, where some sections might be vulnerable with icy conditions. And later in the week, another round of snow is being predicted to fall throughout the area.
