Silverdale artist among winners of Bremerton art show

The winners of over $9,000 in cash and purchase awards in the 2015 Collective Vision Gallery Show were announced at the Admiral Theatre Jan. 24.

The winners of over $9,000 in cash and purchase awards in the 2015 Collective Vision Gallery Show were announced at the Admiral Theatre Jan. 24.

Bremerton Mayor Patty Lent described the occasion as “Bremerton’s Oscars Ceremony for the Visual Arts.”

Mayor’s Award for Best of Show, $1,500: “Clockwork Zen” by Carla Grahn, Seattle.

Best of Kitsap Award, $1,000: “Mountain Stream” by Christine Thompson, Olalla.

Photo/digital Arts: First place, $1,000: “Urban Silence” by Richard Wilson, Bainbridge Island. Second place, $400: “Nothing Endures But Change” by Karen Rozbicki Stringer, Sequim. Third place, $250: “Country Garden, Umbria” by Mary Westerback, Silverdale.

Two dimensional arts: First place, $1,000: “Wind” by Irene Yesley, Bainbridge Island. Second place, $400: “Flight of the Cranes” by Loraine Wade, Olympia. Third place, $250: “Blue Solitude” by Eric Demattos, Clarkston.

Three-dimensional arts: First place, $1,000: “Exhale” by Margaret Murch, Seattle. Second place, $400, “Origins” by Peregrine O’Gormley, La Conner. Third place, $250: “Watcher” by Jason Soles of Seattle.

Kitsap County Arts Board Purchase Prize Awards: “Port Authority,” $1,250, by James Adams, Kingston. “Sand Tracks,” $300, John Benjes, Bainbridge Island. “Ewe and Lamb,” $150, Karen Mittet, Poulsbo. “Cove,” $290, Nicholas Sherbina, Bainbridge Island.

The complete 126-item 2015 CVG Show is on exhibit at the Collective Visions Gallery in Bremerton from the opening day through Saturday Feb. 28. Images of all of artwork in the show can found at www.CVGShow.com. The gallery is located at 331 Pacific Ave. in Bremerton. Gallery hours are 11-6 Wednesday through Saturday and 12-4 on Sundays.
