EAST BREMERTON — A suspect in the double-homicide at Karotis Mobile Home Park in March was arrested and booked early Aug. 20, the sheriff’s department reported.

Detectives arrested the suspect without incident at 8:30 a.m. at his place of employment, the sheriff’s office reported.

The suspect, whose name was not released, was booked into Kitsap County Jail on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree assault. Bail was set at $2 million.

KCSO’s online roster shows a man named Geraldo Castro DeJesus was booked on $2 million bail on two charges of murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

The suspect is scheduled to make his first appearance in Kitsap County Superior Court at 9 a.m. Aug. 24.

Officials scheduled a press conference for 2 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office in Port Orchard, and planned to release additional details on the arrest then.

A woman and child were killed and a neighbor was injured March 28 in the shooting. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a report of gunshots heard at the mobile home park that morning at 2:18 a.m.

“We got multiple calls about multiple gunshots being fired in the park,” Deputy Ken Dickinson said at the time.

Four people were inside the home when the shooter entered it: Heather Kelso, 29, an employee of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard; Kaden Lum, 2; Kaden’s mother; and the neighbor.

Kelso and the man were shot first; Kaden, who was in a bedroom with his mother, was shot as the gunman pursued the man as he escaped through a window in the bedroom.
