KINGSTON — Donations to Neighbor Aid, ShareNet Food Bank’s annual fundraising campaign, reached $44,781 on Dec. 15 — more than halfway toward the fundraising goal.
ShareNet got a $5,000 boost in mid-December from Liberty Bay Auto Center in Poulsbo. The donation reflects $100 from each car sold in November. Liberty Bay is collecting food in December for ShareNet and North Kitsap Fishline.
In addition to the food bank, ShareNet provides emergency food provision, emergency power and rental assistance for residents faced with shut-off notices or eviction, and a weekend take-home food program for school children.
ShareNet’s service area is Kingston, Eglon, Hansville, Indianola, Little Boston, Port Gamble, and some border addresses in Poulsbo and Suquamish.More than $60,000 is needed to maintain full services at ShareNet in 2012. Donations can be made to ShareNet, P.O. Box 250, Kingston, WA. 98346.
