Sewage spill impacts Sinclair Inlet, Narrows

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) reported a 45,000 gallon sewage spill into Sinclair Inlet from a sewer pipe located on base.

BREMERTON — Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) reported a 45,000 gallon sewage spill into Sinclair Inlet from a sewer pipe located on base.

PSNS reports that the spill began on Sept. 14 and was repaired Sept. 17.

The Health District advises residents to avoid contact with Sinclair Inlet and Port Washington Narrows until Sept. 22.

Those who have contact with the salt water should practice good hygiene and wash hands before eating and shower if they were fully immersed.

Warning signs are being posted by the Health District at selected public access areas in Sinclair Inlet and Port Washington Narrows.
