Seventh Annual POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony set for Sept. 18

KEYPORT – On Friday Sept. 18 at 7:45 a.m., the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Keyport is sponsoring the seventh annual POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony at the Naval Undersea Museum in Keyport.

KEYPORT – On Friday Sept. 18 at 7:45 a.m., the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Keyport is sponsoring the seventh annual POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony at the Naval Undersea Museum in Keyport.

The ceremony honors those who have yet to come home from foreign wars and includes the passing of Old Glory by NUWC Keyport’s dive locker and music by Navy Band Northwest.

Capt. Thomas Zwolfer, commanding officer of Naval Base Kitsap, is the keynote speaker. Cmdr. Dustin Demorest, executive officer for NUWC Keyport, will emcee the event.

The event will be held at the Museum’s outdoor plaza and is free and open to the public. Base access is not required.

NUWC Keyport is headquartered in Washington State, and has facilities and operations in California, Guam, Hawaii, British Columbia, Nevada, and Pennsylvania, and personnel working in several other states and countries.
