Security training, demolition planned at Naval Base Kitsap

The Navy routinely conducts training exercises to ensure readiness

BREMERTON — Naval Base Kitsap Harbor Security will conduct several exercises from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 27 on Sinclair Inlet near the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard waterfront.

Increased levels of activity will be noticed during these hours, the Navy reports. Daily base operations won’t be affected. Local residents may see or hear training activity, including the use of blank ammunition from Navy security boats.

Mariners are advised to use caution by reducing speed and establishing a safe distance from the exercise.

Naval Base Kitsap — Bangor will conduct demolition operations that may involve noises and activity visible to the public Sept. 29, instead of Sept. 28 as previously announced.

Demolition operations are scheduled to take place at the NBK-Bangor Demolitions Range from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
