BREMERTON ­­— Michael Schurosky of Bremerton has been named the winner of the 19th Master Technician Competition for Mazda North American Operations.

The national competition, which was held Feb. 20, included a mixture of Mazda Master Technicians and Mazda Elite Master Technicians — all of which had an equal chance of winning.

Schurosky has been a Mazda technician for seven years and is currently a Mazda Elite Master at West Hills Mazda in Bremerton. He has been an automotive technician for 12 years.

Schurosky will be flown to Hiroshima, Japan to compete as the U.S. representative in the Mazda Global Master Technician Competition in 2017. This is the highest honor for a Mazda technician.
