Roland P. Jones passed away on Jan. 24, 2011 at his home in Suquamish, Wash. He was 35. Roland was born on Oct. 25, 1975 to Donald H. and Patricia A. Jones. He attended Suquamish Elementary School and North Kitsap High School. He worked as a commercial fisherman, clam digger, fisheries technician and hunter.

Roland P. Jones passed away on Jan. 24, 2011 at his home in Suquamish, Wash. He was 35.

Roland was born on Oct. 25, 1975 to Donald H. and Patricia A. Jones. He attended Suquamish Elementary School and North Kitsap High School. He worked as a commercial fisherman, clam digger, fisheries technician and hunter.

He was a member of the Suquamish Tribal Canoe Club and enjoyed racing canoes, where he won awards. He was a member of the Indian Full Gospel Shaker Church.

Roland was survived by his daughter, Charissa M.I. Sigo of Suquamish; his parents; his longtime companion, Tracy Bauer of Suquamish; his siblings, James Jones, Denise Moses-Jones, Ethel Jones, Sheila Pierre, Cindy Jones, Jenny Jones, Rick Roberts; and stepchildren, Joey Corville and Ashley Bauer. He also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

Roland was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ida L. Purser; brother, Donnie Jones; and grandparents, Clara and Foster Jones.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service on Jan. 31, 2011, 10 a.m. at the Port Gamble Tribal Gym in Kingston, followed by interment in the Suquamish Cemetery in Suquamish. A reception will be held at the Suquamish Community House.
