Richards to run for state House

Adison Richards has announced his campaign for state House Position 1 in a campaign video.

“Our political climate must change, and I’m prepared to run again and get to work. For too long members of both parties have blamed each other for failing to make more progress on issues like homelessness, housing and healthcare costs, public safety, and lowering taxes for working families,” he says.

Richards maintains, “at the same time, the 26th District has not had an active voice in the House to challenge the political establishment while gas prices go up, ferry service goes down, and our traffic needs go unmet.”

Richards said he will have a bipartisan approach focused on finding common ground that is rooted in his experience negotiating as a lawyer and in his faith. “Neither party has a monopoly on good ideas.”

Richards said his legal experience in housing and serving crime victims is badly needed to help solve the state’s challenges. He is ready to use his skills to protect our democracy. “Political violence and baselessly questioning election results threaten our freedom and Constitutional rights,” Richards said.

Additionally, he’ll seek to Constitutionally protect reproductive freedom and believes that the government should stay out of people’s personal lives. “People have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Our government must guarantee those rights are equally protected,” he said.
