Quinn takes over for Green as Poulsbo fire commissioner

Newly elected Poulsbo Fire Commissioner Chris Quinn has officially taken over following the retirement of Commissioner Conrad Green.

Quinn is a Navy veteran that earned his Masters’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Southern California.

Following his Navy career, Quinn was a pilot for Alaska Airlines for 14 years and over the course of the last six years, Quinn has served on the Poulsbo Fire Department’s Citizen Budget Review Committee.

Quinn believes that his experience in the Navy and at Alaska Airlines has allowed him to build important teamwork and problem-solving skills that he hopes to transfer to the fire commissioner position.

“My past membership in the CBRC has given me a detailed perspective of the fire department’s operational needs and budgeting issues. As a fire commissioner, I’ll use my leadership management expertise to balance the needs of personnel and equipment with today’s budget realities. Essential services, especially ones that are life-and-death, are a ‘must-have.’ Effectively providing these life-saving capabilities must be sustained efficiently,” Quinn said.

Quinn and his wife Karin are active in their church, caring for their aging parents, coaching and teaching at the Peninsula Sailing Club.
