Puget Sound Energy stated in an email that crews were making good progress with efforts to restore power. As of 3 p.m., roughly 45,600 PSE customers in the Puget Sound region were without power. At the peak of the storm Tuesday night, 220,000 customers were impacted about outages.

Puget Sound Energy stated in an email that crews were making good progress with efforts to restore power. As of 3 p.m., roughly 45,600 PSE customers in the Puget Sound region were without power. At the peak of the storm Tuesday night, 220,000 customers were impacted about outages.

PSE expected that power would be restored to most remaining customers by Thursday, with repairs continuing in some hard-hit areas through Friday and Saturday.

“We expect to provide restoration times for most communities by later today after we receive more specific details from our damage assessment teams that have been canvassing neighborhoods. We understand our customers need the best information possible in order to make plans and adjustments,” PSE stated.

Additional crews were brought in to support PSE servicemen and line crews. They’ll stay on the job until power is restored to all customers.

Many lines were damaged during the wind storm. They’re a priority because they provide electricity to tens of thousands of customers. Substations were also affected.

In Kitsap County specifically, Silverdale south to Port Orchard was particularly hard-hit. Damage assessors found areas of damage of varying degrees.

“We understand it can be frustrating not to see crews working in neighborhoods. In most cases, crews are working on equipment that needs to be repaired before power can be restored to homes and businesses,” PSE stated. “Once those repairs are made to transmission lines, circuits, substations, and other areas, crews can move into individual neighborhoods and communities.

“It’s possible that one part of a neighborhood will have power while other homes remain out. This happens because our system works in sections, or circuits. When we can, we’ll re-route power around damaged areas, and isolate the section that requires repairs.

“We always emphasize Safety First. Stay clear of all downed power lines and stay clear of any debris in contact with power lines. Always assume a downed power line is energized and dangerous. Call PSE at 888-225-5773 or 911 to report them.”
