POULSBO — Soroptimist of Greater North Kitsap hosts the annual fundraiser Bras for a Cause to assist local women and children, especially in the fight against breast and cervical cancers.

The Soroptimists will host a preview night at Front Street Gallery in Poulsbo on April 11, 5:30-8 p.m., for the public to see the one-of-a-kind bra art.

Artists and businesses put their creativity to work and decorate “bras,” which will be auctioned to the highest bidder on May 18 at Kiana Lodge. This year, a donated Japanese wedding kimono will also be up for bid. For more information on the dinner and auction night, go to www.signk.org.

In the past, Bras for a Cause donations have gone to Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build project, Hospice of Greater North Kitsap, the Kathleen Sutton Foundation, Martha & Mary’s Children’s Services, and Fishline, ShareNet and Central Kitsap food banks, among many others.

Members and guests of Soroptimist of Greater North Kitsap meet the first and third Wednesday every month, 11:30 a.m., at Stella’s Restaurant, Poulsbo.
