Puget Sound Energy expects to have power restored to most of Kitsap County by Wednesday night, though more snow may be on the way.

About 2,000 customers in the Poulsbo area were without power, along with small pockets of Kingston and Indianola, as of 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The power company expected to restore electricity to most homes by the end of Wednesday and fully restore power by Thursday afternoon, according to a news release from Kitsap County.

About 50,000 Kitsap customers were without power after the county was blanketed by snow and raked by high winds Monday.

The National Weather Service is predicting a 30 percent chance of snow after 4 a.m. Thursday, with an overnight low of 25 degrees.

Rain is likely Thursday night, with the low temperature rising to 38 degrees, according to the Weather Service.

Poulsbo City Hall remains open as a warming station, as of Wednesday afternoon. A severe weather shelter in First Lutheran Church of Poulsbo was open from Saturday until Monday night, when the church lost power. A couple who checked into the shelter on Monday evening were moved to another shelter in the county, after Poulsbo lost power, First Lutheran Church Administrator Beth Samuels said.

North Kitsap schools closed Tuesday and Wednesday. The district had trouble accessing its website to post notices this week, according to a Wednesday email from the district. Schools will continue to notify parents of delay and closures through an automated phone system, an emergency notification line – (360) 779-3971, email, and www.nkschools.org and www.schoolreport.org when available.
