The Planning Commission meets Tuesday, 6 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers to continue its Shoreline Master Program Update. The meeting is open to the public.

POULSBO — The Planning Commission meets Tuesday, 6 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers to continue its Shoreline Master Program Update.

The meeting is open to the public.

The Shoreline Master Program, required by state law, regulates land use near shorelines. According to the Department of Ecology, shoreline master programs contain:

Policies and regulations that apply to shoreline uses.

Policies and regulations for shoreline modification, including dredging and piers.

— Environment classifications — such as aquatic, high intensity, natural, rural conservancy, shoreline residential, and urban conservancy — to accommodate areas with unique characteristics.
