Port Commission to consider a change in their meeting

Conversation will be about having work sessions during regular meetings

Commissioners for the Port of Bremerton will consider whether to take up their work study sessions as part of their regular meetings when they meet next Tuesday.

The meeting on June 11 will be at 6:30 p.m. in the Bill Mahan Conference Room at the Port Administration Offices at 8850 SW Highway 3 in Bremerton.

Currently, commissioners meet prior to their regular meetings for a work study session at 6 p.m. But since those sessions have been running more than 30 minutes, commissioners will consider having just one meeting and incorporating the work study session into the agenda of the regular meeting, following any guest speakers.

Commissioners will discuss whether to begin the regular meeting at 6 or 6:30 p.m.

But this week, commissioners will continue to have a study session at 6 p.m. and a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. On the agenda of the study session is a staff report on festivals, events and vendors.

Tim Thomson, CEO at the port, also will update commissioners on the Harper Pier reconstruction during the regular meeting.
