KINGSTON — Jan Zufelt of John L. Scott Real Estate was throwing candy in the Kingston Fourth of July Parade when she threw something she didn’t mean to.

A ring her husband gave her 40 years ago came off her finger.

“It is a circle that is filled with a round diamond, then an oval ruby, then a round diamond, then an oval ruby, etc.,” she wrote. “One larger diamond sits above the rest. Total five diamonds, four rubies, I think. 🙁 Sad me!”

She is offering a reward for the ring’s return. Contact her at (360) 297-5550 or janzufelt@telebyte.com.

After the parade, she retraced the parade route and went through two trash cans that she had used.

“My husband gave the ring to me 40 years ago — he actually had it made for me — so it’s near and dear to my heart,” Zufelt said. “We celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary Aug. 30.”
