Local Papa John’s stores will donate 100 percent of their profits on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 8 and 9, to the families of the four slain Lakewood police officers.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families. Hopefully, not just businesses will get behind this, but the whole community,” district operations manager Matthew Edwards said. “These are the people who serve us on a daily basis and this is how we say thank you. We just want to let them know that we appreciate what they do.”

Papa John’s has about 40 locations in the greater Puget Sound area, including three in Kitsap County.

Edwards, who lives only a few blocks away from the scene of the incident, said the company had a conference call Tuesday and decided they needed to do something for the officers.

He said businesses, both large and small, have already begun placing orders for those two days.
