Overnight shelters open in Bremerton and North Kitsap

The shelters serve anyone who requires safe overnight refuge where none is available

Due to freezing weather conditions Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management has activated the Severe Weather Shelter Plan.

Both shelters will open Monday night, Dec. 29th with the Bremerton location continuing its shelter operations the evenings of Tuesday, Dec. 30 and Wednesday Dec. 31.

Information on any additional evenings for the shelter at the North Kitsap Fire and Rescue station can be verified by calling 211.   Hours of operation are from 6  p.m. until 7 a.m. Guests will not be able to check into the shelter after 10 p.m.

The Bremerton shelter is located at the Bremerton Food Line, 1600 12th St., Bremerton.

The North Kitsap shelter is temporarily located at North Kitsap Fire & Rescue, 26642 Miller Bay Road NE in Kingston.

The Bremerton location can accommodate persons with pets in a separate area of the shelter.
