Overnight closure of SR 166 near Port Orchard begins Sept. 29

PORT ORCHARD — Motorists planning to travel on State Highway 166, or Bay Street, between SR 16 and Port Orchard will need to alter their route the night of Friday, Sept. 29, to the morning of Saturday, Sept. 30.

The Washington State Department of Transportation said a clearly marked detour will be directed to drivers. The closure will allow contractor crews working for the WDOT to finalize work related to a fish barrier removal project completed earlier this year. The work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if rain clouds arrive, WDOT officials said.

The closure will take effect between 10 p.m. Sept. 29 to 9 a.m. Sept. 30.

Drivers can get real-time traffic information with the WSDOT traffic app at www.wsdot.wa.gov/Inform/mobile.htm.
