The West Sound Entertainment Association continues its concert series March 28 with the operatic duo of Lisa Williamson and Nathan Granner, performing at the Bremerton High School Performing Arts Center.

Williamson is a soprano who is known for the “agility of her lyric-coloratura voice and her theatrical artistry.”

She excels in a wide variety of musical styles, ranging from opera to musical theater. She is as comfortable singing Lerner and Loewe as she is with Puccini or Verdi.

She has performed at Carnegie Hall with the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, and made guest appearances across the United States and Canada with orchestras, including the Florida West Coast Symphony, the Toronto Symphony and the Jacksonville Symphony.

Her busy opera schedule last year saw her performing with the Asheville Lyric Opera, The Atlanta Ballet Orchestra and Light Opera Oklahoma.

This season she is touring with Granner, a tenor whose voice has been said to possess a “buoyant tone, compelling vibrato, clean diction and a resonant timbre.”

He has lent his vocal talents to a wide range of operatic productions, including the Wolf Trap Opera’s “Cosi fan Tutte,” the Lyric Opera of Kansas City’s “Billy Budd” and the Light Opera of Oklahoma’s “The Merry Widow.”

Granner was a member of The American Tenors, the United States’ answer to The Three Tenors, and has performed numerous times with the National Symphony Orchestra. He has also been a regional finalist and national semi-finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and is the Artistic Director of Musical Theater Heritage, an arts organization which produces musical theater radio programs and touring performances.

The appearance by the operatic duo is part of the West Sound Entertainment Association’s 2005-2006 concert series. The organization has been staging concerts in Bremerton for 68 years. Concerts this season included the Montana Mandolin Society, Susan Egan and The Coats. The season wraps up April 12 with a performance by the Manhattan Rhythm Kings.
