One person was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle following burn injuries sustained in a residential structure fire in Silverdale July 11, per Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue.

The fire occurred at Nels Nelson Road NW and Rinacke Court, and started in the garage of the home before igniting a second structure nearby, per CKF&R. The fire was reported by a passerby who observed an elderly male exit the residence to investigate the fire and collapse near the burning building. The citizen was able to drag him to safety, but the resident suffered severe burns.

The Kitsap County fire marshal has been called to investigate the cause of the fire.
