Dr. James “Jimmy” Sellers has been named as the next principal of North Kitsap High School, beginning July 1.
He replaces Bob Marshall, who recently announced his departure following the end of the school year to take the principal position at Gig Harbor High School.
“I am honored and incredibly excited to serve as the next principal of North Kitsap High School,” Sellers said. “Together, we will continue to build a school community where every student feels seen, heard, and empowered to succeed.”
Sellers most recently served as principal at Cavelero Mid High School in Lake Stevens, per a news release. Before moving to Washington, Sellers served as an assistant principal at both Naaman Forest High School and Rowlett High School in Garland, Texas. He began his career in education as a high school English teacher.
He holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University at Commerce, a Master’s in Educational Administration from Lamar University, and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Physical Education from Stephen F. Austin State University.
“Dr. Sellers brings the kind of steady, student-centered leadership that will help North Kitsap High School continue to grow and shine. We’re thrilled to welcome him to our community,” said superintendent Rachel Davenport.
