North Kitsap High School Homecoming Parade Sept. 30; game Oct. 2

North Kitsap and Kingston high schools celebrate homecoming this week (NKHS) and next (KHS), a time when both communities will show their Viking and Buccaneer pride and enjoy parades and football.

POULSBO – North Kitsap and Kingston high schools celebrate homecoming this week (NKHS) and next (KHS), a time when both communities will show their Viking and Buccaneer pride and enjoy parades and football.

The Vikings’ homecoming parade begins at 6:45 p.m. Sept. 30 at Poulsbo First Lutheran Church on 4th Street. The parade will proceed down Front Street to Muriel Iverson Williams Waterfront Park. There, a bonfire will commence, fall sports team captains will speak and the cheer teams will perform.

North Kitsap’s homecoming week will be capped by a football game between the Vikings (1-0, 2-2) and North Mason (1-1, 1-3) 7 p.m. Oct. 2 at North Kitsap Stadium.

The focus turns to Kingston next week. The Homecoming Barbecue and Volleyball Tournament begins at 5 p.m. Oct. 5 at Kingston High School. Fans can join their fellow Bucs for some ‘cue, followed by the Power Puff – that’s what the school calls it – volleyball game at 6 p.m. in the gym.

The celebration continues at 1:40 p.m. Oct. 8 with the Homecoming Pep Assembly, followed at 6 p.m. by the Homecoming Parade from Village Green to the Port of Kingston Marina.

The Bucs (1-1, 1-3) host Olympic (1-0, 4-0) for the homecoming game 7 p.m. Oct. 9, in Kingston.

The week’s festivities conclude with the Homecoming Dance, 8 p.m. Oct. 10 in the high school gym.
