NK band boosters host rummage sale

The North Kitsap High band boosters will host a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 17 at the old Courtesy Ford location on Viking Way in Poulsbo. Local students named to CWU honor roll

Several local students were named to the winter quarter honor roll at Central Washington University last week. Alyssa Mehs, Megan Hennings and Robert Wright of Kingston qualified for the honor roll. Poulsbo students Brock Tidball, Sara Brand, Chelsie Davis, Aleene Lydick, Alanna Shores, Sarah Buford and Kevin Stringer were also named to the list. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale while carrying at least 12 credits to be eligible for the honor roll.

Suquamish Elementary PTSA hosts auction

The Suquamish Elementary School PTSA will host a benefit auction and dinner for the school from 6-10 p.m. May 1 at the Wing Point Golf and Country Club, located at 811 Cherry Ave. on Bainbridge Island. Tickets are $40 per person in advance or $45 at the door. Each ticket includes hors d’oeuvres, a glass of wine and dinner. Kindergarten registration opens in May

Registration for kindergarten classes at North Kitsap School District schools will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 3-7, at each elementary school in the district. Evening registration times will be as follows:

Breidablik Elementary, 4-7 p.m. May 5; Gordon Elementary, 4-6:30 p.m. May 5; Pearson Elementary, 4:30-7 p.m. May 5; Poulsbo Elementary, 5-7:30 p.m. May 6; Suquamish Elementary, 5-7 p.m. May 4; Vinland Elementary, 5-6:30 p.m. May 5; and Wolfle Elementary, 4-6 p.m. May 5.

Parents should bring their child’s birth certificate or other document proving the child’s age, immunization record, doctor’s name and phone number, and names and phone numbers of two emergency contacts. The district plans to offer full-day kindergarten at every elementary school in 2010-11. Full-day kindergarten applications will be available at each school.
