NKSD school board will interview this week to fill vacancy

The North Kitsap School District’s board of directors will interview four applicants at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 to fill the district 2 director position. The position became vacant after school board member Dan Delaney resigned for health reasons. The meeting, open to the public, will be in the board room of the Student Support Services Building.

Applicants for the vacancy are Renee Arcement, a school and community volunteer; Howard Mount, who has extensive experience in collegiate-level education; Mark Warns, an educational volunteer; and Dan Weedin, community volunteer, risk management expert and communications trainer, said NKSD Spokeswoman Chris Case.

The new school board member will be chosen during an open vote at the Nov. 12 school board meeting and will be sworn in during the December meeting. The term expires in 2011.

District 2 runs from Finn Hill Road to Central Valley Road and from the Hood Canal to Liberty Bay.
