Poulsbo Fire Department responded to two separate vehicle collisions involving broken power poles and wires down Oct. 17.
The first occurred on Clear Creek Road and the second at Scenic Drive off Highway 3. In both, one person was transported to St. Michael Medical Center with minor injuries.
In the first collision, Clear Creek Road was closed between Sherman Hill and Rude Road for several hours while Puget Sound Energy was on scene for repairs.
In the second collision, the vehicle was in contact with presumed live wires and a pole leaning on the vehicle, which required first responders to wait for PSE to arrive. The patient was conscious and verbally communicated with first responders while Washington State Patrol provided an escort for an expedited PSE response. Highway 3 was closed at Scenic Drive for about 40 minutes until the scene was cleared.
